Certificate of Merit 2019
CM season is upon us! There are two elements to this examination: performance, and theory. The performance includes, songs, sightreading, and technique. The theory test includes written theory as well as ear training.
The performance element is on Saturday, March 16 (time TBD). You may have given me an AM/PM preference, and we will know the exact time by February 11. It takes place at Cuyamaca College (Building B), 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway, El Cajon, CA 92019. MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) requires that each teacher volunteer 4 hours per 6 students, so I will be there for 8 hours (all day) - monitoring outside evaluation rooms, grading theory tests, etc. I will do my best to come say hello and give a good luck hug!
The theory test takes place on (your choice): Saturday, February 23, Sunday, February 24, or Sunday, March 3. The theory test room opens at 8:30 am and closes at 4:30 pm - meaning the kids have to be DONE by 4:30- so plan on ARRIVING between 8:30 am and 3 pm. There is no time limit, so I encourage you to give your student 1 hour so that they can check and double check their answers! The theory test takes place at Mission Bay Montessori Academy, 2640 Soderblom Ave., San Diego, CA 92122.

Your March invoice will include a charge of one extra lesson as a “CM fee” for my time and preparation materials. Spring Break is also in March, so you won’t notice a difference!
